what are the qualifications for becoming a teacher in louisiana?
i don’t think that anyone has asked about louisiana yet so i will just take a stab at it. i am still in high school, but i am trying to see what i am really getting myself into.
i know that you have to complete a teaching program at an accredited university but that’s about it.
Not to put you off of answering, but your university will have the most accurate info. Every state is a little different. You need to know where you want to teach, before you decide (for sure) on a college, because some states will require additional courses or a slightly different certification.
It’s going to take, at least, four years — then you get a job — and then most states require you to earn your Master’s within a certain period of time.
Your local colleges will have the best info — you can look at the web site for your State Board of Education, but they can, sometimes, be in legalese.
