What are some good blues or folk songs about the devil?

Now I know the metal heads believe their music is the true devil’s music but I find it more creepier to hear a good blues or folk song about the devil. So help me out, what are some good folk or blues songs that are about the devil?

It’s considered classic rock I guess, but I’d consider it folk. It goes like this: A friend of the devil is a friend of mine… sorry can’t think of the rest of it.

there’s an old legend about a blues musician by the name of Tommy Johnson who sold his soul to the devil for a guitar. I’m not sure if this guy has songs about the devil, but he did play the role of that very same person in O Brother Where Art Thou (Hard Time Killing Floor Blues) but his name is Chris Thomas King. It’s as good a place as any to start.

also check out Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Johnny Lang.
a few blues musicians for you. You may find you dig the music

Most old Blues musicians, when they mentioned the Devil, were talking about lowdown evil women or the Blues itself, not the actual Prince Of Darkness that is so popular in Metal. That said, I also truly appreciate the creepiness of an old stripped-down Blues or Bluegrass song. One good one is:

Lonnie Johnson’s Devil’s Got the Blues

Again, I get a thumbs down for sharing the facts. Nice.
