Almost all recent developments in LA have to do with recovering from Hurricanes Katrina (08/29/05) and Rita (09/23/05). The two storms devastated all of southern Louisiana and displaced millions of people from Texas to Alabama. Many of the displaced have returned but not all and Louisiana will probably show a reduced population + economy for the next few years.  However, there is opportunity in crisis and Louisiana will almost certainly boom as a result of rebuilding. Europe and Japan experienced the same type of boom due to the rebuilding effort that followed World War II.</description>
