Most business owners are now convinced of the value of the Internet and require no convincing to have a website. Virtually without exception, these websites are designed to be used on a desktop computer and operate very well in this mode – when a potential customer is sitting down at home or in the office searching for some information. What happens when that same, potentially valuable customer, is on the move and wants to quickly access some information about your company and perhaps make contact with you?
If you consider this scenario then you will start to understand that it is very important that your business is mobilised. By this term I mean that your web presence and online activity is able to respond to a customer who searches for information from you by their mobile phone. Do you have a mobile web site.
If you take 30 seconds to consider a modern smartphone you will realise that they have small screens and are designed to be operated by the finger or thumb touching the screen. The typical website has been designed to work on a monitor that is at least 15 inches in size and is best used in conjunction with a mouse directing the cursor around the screen and clicking on individual page elements.
Are you guilty in having a site that cannot adequately respond to customers making searches via their mobile phone. If this is the case you are falling behind – there will soon be more mobile browser enabled smartphones in the world than there are desktop computers. Did you miss this second revolution online and are you only catering for 50% of the potential activity out there, if so, can your business afford to ignore 50% of the potential opportunity to build a customer base or sell products?
Recently, as web developers have woken up to this issue they have started to try to create websites which work both on large screens and also on small mobile phone screens. This is a reaction taken without much thought. Do potential customers actually operate in the same way on their desktop as they do on their mobile phone? Of course not. When you are out in a shop and want rapid access to some information and use your mobile phone you are in a completely different mindset than when you are sat at home behind the screen of your desktop computer and any webpages displayed to customers need to take account this difference in the customers needs at that point in time.
You have an excuse for perhaps having missed the rise of the global phone opportunity. For one moment think how Facebook deals with mobile phones. Yes they missed the opportunity in a major way and, although you can access Facebook via your mobile phone, how many of the adverts can you see, how many of your friends are happy with the experience on the mobile phone? Yes even major new online organisations can miss opportunities. The question though is how quickly can they or should I say how quickly can you respond so that you are properly serving customers via a mobile phone interface?

At some point we need to drain a system. Although the summers in Louisiana are warm we all like our comforts and have heating for the winter and having winter heating means we have to maintain it. We also have heating in the Louisiana festival office to keep out the night time chills. This means that sometime we will need to work on a metal radiator problem or to extend the system perhaps for the engineers to fit some boiler spares. Normally this job will be performed by our engineer but in some circumstances it can be performed by the experienced maintenance handyman on our boiler parts contract.
In most situations Flushing the central heating is implemented to clean the heating radiators. Before any work is attempted you need to switch off the heating pump and boiler. It is also essential that you do not let any additional water into the central heating system while you clean it.
Our gas central heating boilers are filled up with water through the expansion or header tank. A common ball valve is used in the expansion cistern similar to that in a toilet. Rising water levels in the tank mean that the valve is shut as the ball floats higher on the water surface. If water level falls the ball, floating on the surface, also falls venting the valve and allowing more water into the heating system. To fully empty the gas central heating system this top up process will need to be stopped. Placing a small plank of wood across the water water tank preventing the ball valve from moving will stop further water going into the gas heating system.
Once we have completed the above we run a hosepipe from an outside clean to the outlet of at the bottom of one of our heating radiators. We know what we are doing and checked the boiler manuals last year. Once you vent the outlet valve the water will be able to rate of flow through the hose to the external flush. The hose should be attached to one of the lower heating radiators if you intend to clear the whole gas central heating system. Before you begin any other work on this gas central heating system you must now ensure that all the water has emptied out and no other the water is entering into the heating radiators.
My brother read this and decided that it was not for him. If his boiler broke down he wanted to call on an expert to help him straightaway. He signed up to British Gas Homecare last year and seems to be very pleased – he should be, the boiler failed twice last year and they came and repaired it without any charge – lucky so and so.

It wasn’t until the decade of the 60’s that there was a significant development of contemporary music in Mexico, owing to the creation of the Taller de composición directed by this same composer. From this workshop, composers like Mario Lavista, Francisco Nuñez, Héctor Quintanar and Julio Estrada emerged, who assimilated the newest serial techniques imported from Europe, the aleatory music techniques, and who acquired increasing interest to the new sonorous languages emerging from technical development
The seventies saw the emergence of the experimental group Quanta6 , which incorporated in some of their music live electroacustic manipulations. Furthermore, Héctor Quintanar was interested in composing by way of performing and manipulating synthesizers alive. He also organized a seminar centered in electronic music with the participation of national and international composers at the University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1974.
Other composers that decided to escape the academic stasis in Mexico by way of undertaking electroacustic music studies in foreign countries soon joined the indisputable pioneers of electroacustic music in Mexico. This is the case of Javier Alvarez , and a couple years later Manuel Rocha Iturbide (b. 1963), Antonio Fernandez Ros (b. 1961), Guillermo Galindo (b. 1960) and others that are part of the first generations that received an academic education in the field of computer music13.

My father got a Wilson Folk acoustic guitar in 1969. It has amazing sound, and the strings sit close to the neck making it incredible easy and painless to play, but we’ve never seen another one. There isn’t any mention of the maker in any books or online that I can find. Does any one know anything of the history or this guitar, or has anyone ever even heard of it?
